Benefit They're Real - Amazing Offer

Just a quick post here to tell you guys about a great offer that's going on at Benefit at the moment.

I'm not sure if Benefit are going to keep this offer going for a while or whether it will be a permanent thing (which I doubt as it seems too good to be true), but at the moment if you buy a full sized 'They're Real' Mascara you get a mini travel sized bottle free.

The full size product is 3oz for the usual £19.50 and the travel sized bottle is 1.4oz, which usually costs £9, so this deal sounds pretty fantastic to me as you're getting almost half the product again...for free (everybody's favourite word right?!?).

I picked this little beauty up in Boots, but I assume all Benefit stands will be participating. I haven't done a review on this mascara yet but let's say I can't decide which I prefer out of this and my YSL Shocking Mascara and I never thought I would find anything that came close to my YSL.

I originally bought this product 4 months ago and this was the first time I repurchased (I know shame on me for using a mascara after the recommended 3 month shelf life but I need to save the pennies and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does it ha). Basically I've used it everyday since I got it and I could probably squeeze a little more out of the product but saw this offer and couldn't resist.

I always get asked if I'm wearing false lashes when I've got this on so go snap this deal up before its too late.

Anybody else use They're Real? Anybody else taken advantage of this offer? Let me know your thoughts guys.

E.L.F's Party Pink Mineral Lipstick

I feel like it hasn't been a long time since I last blogged as I wrote a guest post for the lovely Steph at Steph's Inside Voice (which should be coming soon and I can't wait to read all the other guest posts on her blog). So I felt like I'd blogged recently, but obviously it's not on here so technically I haven't haha.

It is now going to look like I'm a little e.l.f obsessed as another one of their products is about to be reviewed. I promise I will mix it up a little after this post, but all e.l.f's products just seem to win me over.

It hasn't been till recently that I have become a huge lip product fan. I never used to bother with them on a day to day basis. I couldn't be bothered with re-applying (and still can't now if I'm honest) so just used them to create a bold makeup look for a night out. However, recently I have fallen in love with so many lipsticks and lipglosses that I just can't leave the house without one on.

This e.l.f lipstick in party pink has now become my go too lipstick for work. It is the perfect subtle shade that just looks like an enhanced natural lip. I've had so many comments on it from the girls at work about how it's just the right shade for a daytime lipstick.

The colour is a lovely medium rosé pink shade that isn't too light and isn't too dark. The colour is pretty long lasting to say it was only £2.50 so it is well worth the small amount of pennies I spent on it. Unfortunately, that was the sale price and they are normally £5 however, there is a 60% sale on right now if you spend over £25...and £25 goes a long way with e.l.f.

The formula is extremely moisturising as they are mineral lipsticks so it doesn't stick to any dry patches on the lips, but its not so moisturising that it makes the lip too sticky. I've been wearing it pretty much everyday for the past month and it's still going strong.

Like all e.l.f products the packaging is simple (but at that price, we aint paying for packaging are we?!?) and very well made. Usually by now, the tops of my other lipsticks have come loose and the lipstick has covered everything in my handbag, but not with this beauty.

All in all I think the e.l.f lipsticks are definitely worth the cheap-ish price tag, especially if you can get them at a discount. So if you do find yourself taking advantage of the 60% off, I definitely advice you pop one of these into your basket.

Has anybody else tried any e.l.f lipstick, or any other e.l.f product for that matter? Let me know what you thing.

Elf St. Lucia Duo Review

As I've been lacking on the blogging front recently I thought this would be a good time to finally do the review I've been trying to do for so long now...the E.L.F's Contouring Blush and Bronzing Cream duo in St. Lucia

Oh just look how pretty it is!!! Now I could easily start and end this review here by simply saying just one thing to convince you of how amazing this product is...its pretty much an exact dupe to Nars Laguna Blush Duo, apart from the fact its a cream. Surely that's all you need to know right?

BUT don't worry, I will go in to more detail! So yes, the actual products are pretty similar but the packagings are the same too. In fact I'd go as far as saying e.l.f's is better as it doesn't have that horrible rubbery feel like the Nars, which I find my make up always sticks too (there's a fair few foundation finger prints on my Laguna at the moment)!

The two products together are very lovely as they're so creamy and pigmented and are extremely nice to apply. Both products blend into the skin with ease and are the perfect amount of "pop of colour" mixed with subtle-ness. I never used to be a fan of cream blushes and bronzes as I found they just turned chalky on the skin and stuck to any dry areas, but these two work wonders on adapting to your skin type and keeping that creamy look.

Here you can see the contrast of when each are applied straight to the skin and then after blending. Because of how pigmented they are and how easily they blend you can work both a bold look or just have a cheeky hint of colour.

Although it looks quite pink in this picture the blush is actually more of a pinky coraly colour. This blush lasts a good length of time on the skin. Any product that can pass my work make up test is a keeper in my eyes and this product is still going strong when I do my touch ups at lunch time. If I'm honest, I actually find that it lasts longer than my mac blusher.

Although I am loving using this blush I feel that it is potentially a better colour for winter due to it's warmer tone. It is definitely a lovely colour to wear on nights out though, for more of a natural look when I bold eye is brought to the make up party.

The bronzer has the opposite season effect than the blush. Because it has quite a dark tone, it is probably better to use in the summer when you have more of a tan. Although it is a similar shade to my NARZ Laguna, this product is much more bold and needs much less work to be noticed on the skin.

It is a great product to use to create a hell of a contoured face! I find it is best to apply the bronzer by using the side of your thumb rather than with a brush as you can really blend it out to a nice tone with this technique.

My second favourite thing about these products is that there is no shimmer in them at all. I'm not one for real glittery things as I have a very oily complextion and these product are definitely leaning towards the matte side of the scale.

My absolute favourite thing about this duo is the price. The whole this is just a ridiculously cheap £3.75 and I'm pretty sure I got this when there was a sale on. Thats £26.25 cheaper than the Narz duo and for how similar the shades are its practically a steal. Unfortunate it is currently out of stock but e.l.f are great at letting you know when their products are back.

I have used this duo pretty much everyday since I got it and can't believe how high end and long lasting this feels when it has such a small price tag. Then again I am blown away but all the e.l.f products I have so I don't know why I was surprised. Have any of you guys used e.l.f products? Which are your favourite?

Thumbs up e.l.f!!

Liebster Blog Award

I need to start by saying that I have been awful at blogging recently, the mix of being on holiday, catching up at work, trying to move to London and my laptop battery breaking did not mix well for enjoying my blogging life. But it really feels good to be back as trying to blog on my phone is NOT easy believe me!!! Thankful I've been able to read everyone else's blogs but commenting hasn't seemed to work so prepare for a commenting overload soon now my laptops back!

Anyway lets get to the point. The lovely Stephanie from stephaniemaverick.blogspot.co.uk nominated me for a Liebster Blog Award which I am very grateful for as its nice to know people actually read a day in the life of a northern girl. So I want to say a big thank you to Stephanie, you should really check out her blog HERE if you haven't already. She also has a little youtube channel which is lovely to watch. She explains what a Liebster Award is in more detail in her blog but basically it is a great way for little unknown bloggers like me to get to know more about each other and share their blogs with the blogging community.

So lets get on to Stephanie's Questions :)

1. If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would it be? e.g. home, your bed, on vacation.

Right now, it would have to be London. Me and my boyfriend have been thinking about moving down there for a while now and its actually starting to come together. He has a job and we have an area we want to live in we just have to get down there. It seems so close but so far at the same time!!!

2. What's your favourite lipstick?

For colour it has to be Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 110 as I love the orangey look for lipsticks, however I don't actually like the formula as I find it too drying on the lip. For formula it has to be the Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquers. Their pretty much what would happen if a lip gloss and a lipstick had a baby and who wouldn't love that? They don't have the stickiness that most lip glosses have and they are actually long lasting, almost like a lip stain. I have to thank Steph from Steph's inside voice for putting me on to these amazing things. Thank you :)

3. When it comes to eyeliner do you wing it, smoke it or not use it?

Wing it! Always have, always will. I do a small one for work (as getting up at 6am makes for eyes that need to look more awake) and a stronger, bolder, longer line for a night out. I aways use liquid too, I just can't seem to work pencil liners.

4. Dragons or unicorns?

Easy, unicorns...next? :)

5. If you could meet anyone in the world from any time period who would it be? e.g. Amelia Earhart, Tom Cruise.

Tough question. I think it would have to be Berry Gordy Jr, the founder of Motown Records. He's worked with so many amazing artists I bet he has the best stories to tell. And jeez that guy has good taste in music!

6. Do you prefer your hair up or down?

I always think down, but turns out I always have it up by the end of the day, so I guess it's up! My hair doesn't really do much though so I don't have much choice.

7. On vacation of you wear dresses and skirts or jeans and shorts?

Jeans and shorts. I'm trying so hard to be more girls with my wardrobe but I just love the chilled out look.

8. Sandals or flip-flops?

Flip flops. Havaianas to be more exact. They are soooo comfy and I'm all about comfort over style when it comes to shoes...now that was a rare thing for a girl to say!!

9. What is your favourite feel-good summertime song right now?

I'm going to have to say Robin Thick - Blurred Lines purely because I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! I know there is going to be a better song out there that I have forgotten about, and this isn't normally my kind of music but jeez it's catchy.

10. What's your favourite nail polish called and where is it from?

It's a new one for me and I feel very strange saying it's a nude shade as I used to hate them so much...but cookies and cream by Ciate. I have a full blog post here! (Shameful self promotion there...shall we all just pretend we didn't see me do that :) )

11. What do you want to get out of blogging, where do you see yourself a year from now?

I just want to enjoy myself and do something I'm passionate about. I also want to meet some great people which I already feel like I'm starting to do.  Getting great tips and recommendations is always a Brucie bonus too. A year from now...I just hope I'm still doing it.

Now for my questions:
1. Summer or winter?
2. Favourite beauty blogger or youtuber and why?
3. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
4. Favourite foundation?
5. What made you want to start blogging?
6. Favourite scent (be that a perfume or a natural scent)?
7. Do you have an unusual hobby or party trick?
8. Shoes or handbags?
9. Would you rather have to spend the rest of your life with no make up on but have perfect hair or perfect make up but your hair looks like its been dragged through a hedge backwards?
10. Favourite skin product?
11. High end make up or High Street?

in this I tag:
